April 24th, 2016

We've come a long way baby, or have we? Studies from National Institute for Mental Health show that negative self-esteem and body image are still predominant issues in our society. Selfies and social media platforms that are part of today's visual culture put even more pressure on women and even girls as young as 8 to compare themselves to unrealistic ideals. Dr. Laurie Little, a licensed clinical psychologist who has dedicated herself to counseling and helping has recently launched a new business (www.myinsideoutbeauty.com) that will do that from the inside out. Dr. Little and Lindsey House, a dietitian and fitness coach join us for a discussion on health and beauty.

Episode 133: Hamilton Mill & Glance Software

April 10th, 2016

Small business is the backbone of the US economy. Kinda corny, but true. Small business revitalizes neighborhoods by creating a variety of economic footholds in one region. Depending on one company or even one focused industry (think Detroit) can be devastating for thousands of families and sometimes for generations. The Hamilton area was one of those cities that enjoyed a prosperous past from the paper industry but when that goliath company went down so did the city. The Hamilton Mill in conjunction with the city of Hamilton has a new plan and it's already working to revitalize Hamilton in a new direction. They join us with one of their veteran entrepreneurs, Austin Clei, CEO of Glance Software
